First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Serhiy Yaroviy says about 65,000 people are taking part in the religious procession for a local Orthodox church.

"As of 13:00 Kyiv time, about 65,000 people are taking part in the religious procession. The situation is calm and controlled. Just like yesterday, explosive experts and detector dog handlers checked the route of the procession to prevent terrorist attacks and provocations. Policemen, national guards and units of the State Emergency Service are responsible for the safety of citizens," as reported by the press service of the Interior Ministry.

According to the ministry, 2,500 law enforcement officers are protecting law and order during the religious procession.

Government officials, members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religios Organizations, public figures, volunteers, representatives of culture, science and education are taking part in the event.
