As part of the first phase of work on a site of almost 4 kilometers, it is planned to build the Mostytska and Prospekt Pravdy subway stations and a branch line toward the Vynohradar station, according to the Kyiv Metro's press service.

The budget is estimated at UAH 5.993 billion (US$215.8 million), while the deadline is set for 2021.

As part of the project, the technology of vertical tunnels will be used in Kyiv for the first time. Moreover, the Mostytska subway station will be built as a deeper station, while the Prospekt Pravdy subway station and subsequent ones will be built by the open method, as shallow stations.

"Currently, all the documents stipulated by the legislation are being prepared for commencing works. In preparing the project, the Kyiv City Council has already supported the allocation of technical land plots for setting up construction sites," the press service said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on September 10, 2018, Kyiv Metro announced a re-tender to build a subway section that will extend the Syretsko-Pecherska line from the Syrets subway station to the Vynohradar residential area in Kyiv's Podil district.
