Ukraine's main Christmas tree lit up in Kyiv
The main Christmas tree of Ukraine has been presented on the St. Sophia Square in Kyiv.
"Saint Nicholas," Ukraine's first lady Maryna Poroshenko and Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko took part in the opening ceremony.
Klitschko congratulated the residents and guests of the city with St. Nicholas Day and the upcoming New Year holidays.
He also said that last year the main Christmas tree of Ukraine returned to St. Sophia Square for the first time in the last 60 years, and the city authorities will maintain this tradition.
"The current tree is higher and more beautiful than it was last year. And our 'Christmas town' is larger and more diverse. It is spread down to Mykhaylivska Square," Klitschko said.
